Project introduction

         TUS-Cao He Jing Science Park is a high-tech park jointly invested in and built by TusHoldings, Lingang Group and Songjiang District government. Located in the headquarters R&D functional area of Songjiang New City, a part of the “one corridor and nine areas” of G60 Shanghai Songjiang Scientific and Technological Innovation Corridor, it is an important node along the corridor and enjoys industrial policy supports of Songjiang G60. At the same time, as a component of the north section of Songjiang Park of Zhangjiang High-tech Zone, it also enjoys support from special development funds of Zhangjiang High-tech Zone and other relevant policies. This Park was opened in May 2016, and the first phase of this park, with coverage of 66mu and a total building area of 70,000m2, has introduced more than 100 enterprises (with a settlement rate of nearly 100%), more than 70% of which are intelligent manufacturing related specialized, top-quality and innovative enterprises.


I. Location and transportation

         TUS-Cao He Jing Science Park is located at 68 Zhongchuang Road, Shanghai, close to Songjiang campus city and the international ecological business district of Songjiang New City. It is only 30 minutes’ drive from the urban area of Shanghai and the Hongqiao hub, and has notable location advantages. Around this park, there are many leading manufacturing enterprises. Tramcar Line T2 has a station at the gate of this park, and the planned Songjiang East Ramp of G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway is only 1.5km away.

 

II. Development plan 

        Construction of the second phase of TUS-Cao He Jing Science Park was commenced in April 2017, and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2018. This second phase project has a coverage of 63mu and a total planned building area of about 110,000m2. There will be 22 buildings in this project, now in preparatory stages. It will take the core design concept of “industrial experience”, focus on the needs of enterprises and employees, reflect the forecasted future development trends of industries. With a focus on intelligent manufacturing as the major industry, emphasize high-degree matching between space and industry, between customer and industry, and between service and industry, the site will provide enterprises with a new experience for scientific research, production and office handling.

         The third phase of this park is under planning, and has obtained use right for a land of 115mu located on the south of Guangfulin Road. With a total planned building area of 192,000m2, the third phase project is expected to be commenced in January 2018.

 

III. Industrial direction

         TUS-Cao He Jing Science Park has preliminarily formed four dominate industrial directions. Taking intelligent manufacturing as the axis, it will gradually build and improve the industrial chains of environmental protection and new energy, new energy automobile, medical device, and analysis instrument. The site is now making special efforts to build Shanghai G60 analysis technology industrial cluster, so as to play a leading role of presenting radiation to Yangtze Delta, serving the entire country, and moving toward the world in the development of the analysis technology industry in China. The government of Songjiang District and TusHoldings plan to invest RMB 600 million and attract total investment of RMB 3 billion in the coming 5 years to promote the development of world advanced analysis technologies in G60 Shanghai Songjiang Scientific and Technological Innovation Corridor, to incubate and introduce more than 180 companies involved in analysis technology in this park, to gather more than 7,000 technical talents, and to achieve total output value of RMB 20 billion.

          Chen Hongyuan and Tan Weihong, academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, R.Graham Cooks, Richard N.Zare and ZHU Jiankang, academicians of US National Academy of Sciences, Michael R.Ladisch, academician of US National Academy of Engineering, and many scholars and experts under the “Thousand Talents Program” have joined the technical steering committee of the park. This provides talent guarantee for setting of postdoctoral workstation, promotion of research, development and introduction of key technologies, and enhancement of overall technological level of the industrial cluster.

 

IV. Achievements

          The first phase of this park was opened in May 2016, and introduced more than 100 enterprises (with a settlement rate of nearly 100%) as of the end of the last year, more than 70% of which are intelligent manufacturing related specialized, top-quality and innovative enterprises. Most of the incubated enterprises are IT companies focusing on software, Internet, and are located in the subordinate segments of intelligent manufacturing. The overall tendency of “software serves hardware, and hardware drives software” has formed, and upstream and downstream industrial chains have been built to promote clustering innovation development.

         The Park also pays close attention to introduction of top-quality talents. It has introduced 6 academicians, 1 expert under the national “Thousand Talents Program”, 25 doctors and 83 masters, in which 26 ones have educational background of study abroad, and 45 hold professional titles of sub-senior level or above.

         TUS-Cao He Jing Science Park will remain dedicated to the standard three cores (respectively science park, scientific and technological industry, scientific and technological finance) driven development mode of TusHoldings, promote clustering innovation development, actively promote the commercialization of research findings of Tsinghua University and local colleges in Shanghai by virtue of a global network, more than 20 years of experience in scientific and technologic service and rich innovation and entrepreneurship resources from TusHoldings. With this backing, they will attract a series of projects to settle in Songjiang, gather various innovation and entrepreneurship elements, build a power engine of G60 Shanghai Songjiang Scientific and Technological Innovation Corridor, promote the construction of Shanghai scientific and technological innovation center, and make efforts to become a new model in deep integration of industry and city and a new benchmark in scientific and technological innovation service.
